Netflix announced today that The Kominsky Method has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes two months following the release of the comedy's eight-episode freshman run.

The renewal seemed all but inevitable after the show made headlines when it won a Golden Globe Award last week, becoming the first Netflix original series to win in the Best Television Series - Musical or Comedy category. The win was also the first for a series by creator Chuck Lorre, the man behind hits like The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men.

Michael Douglas stars in the series as Sandy Kominsky, a once-successful actor who now makes a living as a Hollywood acting coach. Together with his long-suffering agent and friend Norman, played by Alan Arkin, the two men navigate their third act while facing life's inevitable ups-and-downs in a city that places the highest value on youth and beauty.

The streaming service has ordered another eight episodes for Season 2 of The Kominsky Method, matching the length of its first season. Look for a return later this year.
