No Season 2 for the George R.R. Martin thriller.
February 19, 2019
It is being reported that Syfy has cancelled Nightflyers after just one season. Word comes two months after the show's now-final episode.
A co-production with Netflix, the series premiered in December with a 10-episode run. Its initial prospects appeared promising, arriving with a big-budget production and a story based on George R. R. Martin's 1980 novella of the same name. Critical and viewer response, though, ultimately failed to live up to its lofty aspirations. Reviews were decidedly mixed and ratings ended up on the soft side.
Nightflyers takes place in the year 2093, with a team of scientists aboard an advanced ship called the Nightflyer embarks on a journey to find other life forms. Their mission brings them to the edge of the solar system, but a horror already on their ship will take them to the edge of insanity.

I also really wanted to like this. I watched the first four episodes, and kind of lost interest. I actually kept the rest of the episodes on my DVR up until a couple days ago, with full intentions of watching it.

One season was enough, not because it is good or bad, but the story itself is entirely revealed and concluded.

Good riddance. Maybe GRRM will now focus on finishing up The Winds of Winter as opposed to adapting more of his novels into crappy TV series...
