The drama will end with a 10-episode run.

Word is out today that Arrow will be coming to an end after its upcoming eighth season. The action drama is the network's longest-running superhero-based series, with its success helping pave the way for the likes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Star Stephen Amell took to Twitter with the news, which does not come as a complete surprise given the show’s age. Once a flagship of The CW, Arrow's ratings have tapered off over the years. But at over 150 episodes, that is to be expected. And yet, it still draws decent numbers for the network compared to its other prime time entries. Yearly crossover episodes with fellow DC series also help boost its viewership.
Playing Oliver Queen has been the greatest professional experience of my life... but you can’t be a vigilante forever.

Arrow will return for a final run of 10 episodes this Fall.
There’s so much to say... for now I just want to say thank you.

Amell has been a delight for the complete show but cant say the same for the other main/notable cast with the exceptions of Paul Blackthorne and Manu Bennett who always seemed on point.
But whether it was shitty actors, poor writing/direction or a combination of both that ruined the show is up for debate but honestly am glad to see the show end and hopefully see Amell in something better.
As for why i watch the show if the shows is so rubbish is because i am invested in the universe at this stage and enjoy DC Legends and the yearly Crossover episodes and feel obliged to watch the steadily declining partner shows: Arrow, flash and Supergirl.
All are infuriating for different reasons such as SJW Bullshit and pandering but the underlying connection is they all seem to hire some shitty actors and utterly ridiculous writing at times. That being said i did like most of Supergirls current story line until they started doing stupid shit. Sam Witwer was fantastic but other guest stars not so much.
TLRD: Just put it out of its misery and let Amell star in something better. Same can be said for Flash as the writers seem to lack any new ideas and are simply recycling the same old shit with lower overall standard than they originally had.
