The long-running drama will say good-bye in 2020.
March 22, 2019
It was announced today that Supernatural will be coming to an end after its already-ordered 15th season. The news, which was posted on social media by some of its stars, comes two months after the veteran drama's most-recent renewal and will bring an end to one of television's longest-running series.
Originally premiering on the now-defunct WB Network in 2005, Supernatural has impressively amassed over 300 episodes and boasts one of television's most-loyal fanbases. Throughout its time on the air, the show has always been one of The CW's top-rated series - even to this day.
20 episodes have been ordered for the final season of Supernatural. That number matches the total of its current 14th season, which is its shortest in over a decade. Look for a premiere this fall.

The show is ending because Jared and Jensen want to produce other things, especially to be with their families more. This wasn’t a CW didn’t want the show anymore, or about money, or about running out of stories. If you read some of the many articles out there that have been reported, you’ll find that Jared and Jensen just want to move on as much as they love their fans.

I just love these shows. Crazy because I am 64 years old and should be in a rocking chair and crocheting. My only response to the messages above is a comment by M. Dobey, about a spin off with all female cast and I just know I would never watch a ‘all women or man’ show. I feel the same about a all white or black show. I like some diversity in my shows and refuse to watch these all this or that shows. Just my opinion.

I don't think this show
is losing viewers. The
show has die hard fans.
I feel that money is the
reason for the cancellation.
I think the main cast
wanted more money. Cancel
shows always end because
of money. Just a feeling.

The show had a great run, but I'm glad to see it coming to an end. It's time.

What a great run! Going to miss this show. One last thing they have to do before it ends is save their younger half brother from the pit! He has been stuck their 9 years already!

I love Supernatural, and I am very glad it went well beyond the original 5 seasons that were planned. Of course some seasons are better then others, but they are all worth watching. My 2 favorite things about Supernatural are all the episodes that poke fun and are filled with inside jokes, especially The French Mistake, and the way the cast gels like a real family. I will miss Sam, Dean, Castiel, Bobby, etc, but I will miss Jared and Jensen on screen together even more.

Not your typical fan here as a 50 yr old male but have been watching since the beginning. Knew this day would come eventually, but doesn’t mean I have to like it. It’s been fun but have to agree with most it’s time. Thanks for all the fun and entertaining storylines! It’s been great!
