The superhero drama will return for Season 2.
April 2, 2019
Netflix announced today that The Umbrella Academy has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes less than two months after the superhero drama released its 10-episode freshman season.
Adapted from the comic book series of the same name from Dark Horse Comics, the show follows a group of estranged siblings with extraordinary superpowers who are reunited after their father's death. But in doing so they discover past family secrets with far-reaching consequences, and must work together to stop an emerging threat to humanity.
Since its February premiere, the series has been met with a generally positive reception for its fun and unique take on the genre. Production on Season 2 is slated to begin this summer, with another 10 episodes on order. Look for a premiere later this year or in early 2020.

Was a slow start, but by the end of season 2, loved it and can't wait for a 3rd season.
Season 2 is definitely better than the first (which was good) and who knows where the writers are going to go from the S2 final episode. In these crazy times, shows like this keep me sane. Thankyou

I finally finished it! I know! I'm super behind in Netflix time but I had other shows I was watching and I'm one of those weird people who only binges one show at a time and pretty much in a specific order. Anyway, I loved it! So glad to see it's getting renewed as I love the comic books as well. Only thing I didn't like about it was Ellen Page. Vanya is a great character but I've never been a big fan of Page as I find her to just play the same character over and over, but not well. That won't stop me from watching the second season however. It's too good for me to miss.

Eh... wasn't too big on this show. Just couldn't get into it. There were other shows they should have renewed over this imo.

What does "Deadly Class" have to do with this show? Are you only allowed to watch one of them? I watched, and enjoyed, both of them. I do think "The Umbrella Academy" is much better.

It is a slower drama but a good show. The show does not give you a lot of action , but that is ok. It is a drama sci fier. Deadly class , is a different type of show , which is like a cool 1980's b movie. But after all the comic book writers went for that in their series.

Deadly Class on Syfy puts this PC Soap Opera to shame.

I admit i really liked the stylization and flow - reminded me alot of Watchmen. And the dialog portion of the writing was top notch... But other than that i got nothing. I figured out the cause of the apocalypse in the 2nd episode so i was basically waiting 8 hours to see how it came about... which bored the snot out of me since i was hoping i was wrong and there would be some grand twist. Also the writers have no concept of science, especially time travel, which seems odd as superheros are more "science-fiction" than fiction - (along with the time travel) it especially made the whole end scene just ridiculously unbelievable, almost Saturday-Cartoonish. Its a shame that so much work and beauty went into something that ended up being so... amatuer... I might, maybe watch season 2 someday, but ill need to be really bored....

Man, bummer that neither of the first two commenters here liked the show. Being a huge superhero buff, I absolutely loved this new show. It took me about two weeks to watch all the episodes and I was definitely left wanting more. The potential to bring in other superhero’s with the rest of the super powered children born on the same day and seeing where the show goes with Number 7 as well, I’m so excited for this renewal!!!
