The updated anthology series will return for Season 2.
April 29, 2019
CBS All Access announced today that The Twilight Zone has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes midway through the show's freshman run on the streaming service.
A modern re-imagining of the original 1959 series created by Rod Serling, the series premiered in April with its first episode garnering the highest number of Day 1 viewers for an original series on the on-demand service. Reviews have been mostly positive as well, with fans and critics appreciating its ability to stay true to the essence of the original.
Hosted and narrated by Jordan Peele, the updated Twilight Zone follows an anthology format, utilizing socially-conscious storytelling to explore aspects of the human condition and contemporary culture.

Original made the mistake of going full hour. Brevity could help, or even allow a second mini-story. Also, some stories used humor.

Meh. It's not horrible but it does draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaag. And the racial undertones could be removed. (That "Replay" episode could not have been more black-based racist.) I get it Peele.. you're black. And YES there is still a culture where "white privilege" exists. But I'd wager that MOST of the white people who will watch your productions are not racists, and the black people that watch them know how racism is still a thing in America. So, much like Spike Lee, or EVERY single black-centric show produced in the last 10 years...... you are either preaching to the choir or the converted and NOT making any headway. I wish there was a note to all black producers that you don't HAVE to try and "educate the audience" with your productions -- when you do, the shows come off as "after school" productions and condescending. If you want to try and curb racist white people make GOOD shows with black actors portraying characters that are likable and not condescending. That's all you need do.

The originals were tightly written and edited half-hour programs. The reboot will only be as good as the originals when they stop being so long. The length is unnecessary -- it's mostly extraneous. Be better, Jordan Peele.

Happy to hear it! The series has similarities to the classic original while maintaining its own identity. Curious to see who else is cast in future episodes
