YouTube announced today that Cobra Kai has been picked up for a second season on its subscription service, YouTube Premium. The good news comes one week following the dramedy's sophomore release.

Since its premiere last year, the series has been one of the stronger originals on the streamer, garnering overall positive reviews and strong viewership in both its seasons. According to YouTube, the first episode of Season 2 has been viewed over 50 million times.

Acting as a follow-up to The Karate Kid film series, Cobra Kai is set 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament. Still haunted by his past, Johnny Lawrence looks for redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo. But his old rivalry with Daniel LaRusso is reignited when their lives become intertwined with the up-and-coming generation of karate kids.

Look for Season 3 of Cobra Kai to premiere in 2020.
