No Season 5 for the family comedy.
May 10, 2019
It is being reported that CBS has cancelled Life in Pieces. The sad news comes five episodes into the comedy's fourth season, which was moved to air in the mid-season this year for the first time.
The half-hour series has been a fairly consistent performer for the network, airing behind Mom, which acts as a reliable lead-in. The late season premiere this time around, though, had raised suspicions that the show was nearing the end of its run.
Life in Pieces follows three generations of the Short family, with each episode telling separate short stories that each focus on a different group of the clan. New episodes resume airing on May 23.

Great show, with wonderfully talented cast and a good ratings performer. I am guessing the suits at CBS are looking for a more "Diverse" family comedy. It is only a matter of time before the three major networks are off the air.

One of the best comedies on the air. Wonderful cast, consisting of both veteran actors and newbies. Quality broadcasting. My wife and I laughed consistently during each show. How can CBS cancel such an entertaining series? Very surprising decision. I wish another network would pick this up. Maybe Netflix. They get it!

Fantastic cast, and some really funny material -- felt weird just how horny the show seemed to be considering the very young actors and the target audience (if there remain any element of family-friendly dong or boning jokes left unmined by the end of the season, I'd be very surprised,) but it was full-tilt comedy and the segmented structure helped it jump to the funny material faster than most A-plot/B-plot shows. Knew it was not going to last when they kept Season 4 to burn off this year, so no surprise that it got canceled, but I'm glad it lasted as long as it did.

Too bad. This season so far has been better than the previous two. The writers had picked up their game and I actually found it funny.
But it's clear from the scheduling that it was just filler this season.

I'm so sad to hear this show get cancelled. I love the 5 minute format of the stories and seeing how it all comes together. This was a great show my husband and I could enjoy watching together. Maybe Netflix or another network will pick it up?

Great show, great cast but the inconsistent writing sometimes stretched beyond the characters dossier. But overall this was a brilliant show and I will miss it. Seems like CBS is in a freefall right now...
