No Season 2 for the mid-season spy dramedy.
May 12, 2019
Word is out that Whiskey Cavalier has been cancelled by ABC after just one season. It wasn't long after the news broke that the show's cast took to social media to express their sadness that Season 2 would not be in the cards.
The spy dramedy premiered in February with a high-profile campaign centered around its big-name stars Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan. While its debut episode drew a decent audience, the show under-performed in the weeks that followed. The show has two episodes left to be aired, with the series finale set for Wednesday, May 22.
Whiskey Cavalier follows tough but tender FBI agent Will Chase, who gets assigned to work with edgy CIA operative Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge. Together they lead an inter-agency team of spies tackling high-stakes missions, while navigating ups and downs in their personal lives.

I can't say I'm disappointed but I did like this show. You need time to tell a story and yes I know that they basically did the same thing each show, but it is a show about crime and catching bad guys so honestly how different can each one be. It would be better if shows lasted 4 or 5 seasons and had 10 to 12 episodes each season. Then the shows would have enough time to tell the stories without getting stale.

Scott Foley is a great actor this put as stupid I could not watch after two shows. He deserved a better strip not the bad and worse lines.

Guess Maggie will be back in Walking Dead next season?
I watched ONE episode of this lazy-writing nonsense. It was absolutely HORRIBLE! Completely recycled and unbelievable. Garbage in...garbage out. Same story every year.

ABC stands for another bad cancellation. I liked this show. I do not watch ABC programs because the fun shows get canned while the doctor or legal shows stay on forever.PS most of the comedies are recycled family drivel. I guess Maggie will be returning to hilltop.

I loved this show, always cancel the good shows, but keep that stupid crap on.

Now this is a shame - I really loved the show. I always feel that they cancel the wrong things and leave the crap up. As for abc, I think you got this one wrong. Was ABC where Deception was? I just loved that! This had great fun and great chemistry. A sensitive spy and a no nonsense female partner who is a badass with trust issues? That's just insanely perfect. Loved the other three supports as well.

Have to agree with the cancellation on this one. The chemistry between the two leads was nil and the rest of the cast was trying too hard to make up for it.

Only the cw stands by it's shows mostly. Although "Gotham" lasted five seasons against the odds. And of course Abc has kept
"agents of shield" which I enjoy a lot. But if you get hooked on a cw show they give their shows good runs often. Because they invested in them and don't just dump them if they are not huge hits. So I recommend any show on that network. They usually get at least three or four seasons. Or even more.

Sad to see this one go. Really appreciated it for the quirky characters and the mix of action and humor. Sadly, the trend seems to be towards more violent, darker shows; and while I do watch several of those, this was a little lighter fare to enjoy once a week.
