Netflix had some big news for Big Mouth today, announcing a huge three-season renewal for the animated comedy. The pickup, which comes ahead of the already-ordered third season, will see the series on the air through at least Season 6.

Co-created by actor and comedian Nick Kroll, Big Mouth follows a fictionalized version of himself and his best friend in their teenage years as their lives are getting turned upside down by puberty. With their hormones raging and their bodies doing all sorts of strange things, life has never been so confusing for them and their friends.

The series has garnered high praise from both critics and fans for each of its two seasons thus far. This year it received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Animated Program - a first for the show in that category. Big Mouth is part of the growing slate of adult-targeted animated comedies to land on the streaming service, with others like F is for FamilyCastlevania, and BoJack Horseman finding similar success with multiple season runs.

Season 3 of Big Mouth is expected to premiere later this year. No time frame has been announced for Seasons 4 through 6, but it's likely we'll see one per year starting in 2020.
