No Season 3 for the mystery drama.
August 5, 2019
It is being reported that Netflix has cancelled The OA after two seasons. The news comes five months after the mystery drama's sophomore run, which debuted in March. There were over two years between the release of the show's seasons, both of which garnered critical acclaim.
The OA stars Brit Marling, who co-created the series, as Prairie Johnson - an adopted blind woman who returns home under strange circumstances seven years after disappearing. Not only is her whereabouts during that time unknown, but Prairie now calls herself The OA, and has abilities she did not have prior to vanishing. While she keeps the details of her disappearance hidden from most, Brit confides in a group of five locals she assembles and asks for their help in a very important matter.

The first season did end with her crazy , but if you watched season two you found out that she and others switch bodies with people in parallel universes. It was a hard show to watch as it moves slowly in season two, but it was really well done, and a show that is hard to follow story wise is not going to last. Sadly. However Legiom which is really bizaare could have gone more seasons, the x men spin off is bery hard to follow but still great.

@rbb - Simple answer. Netflix cares about the number of people who view the show, not what some a small group of people on a random website think. This sites forum will never change the minds of a network.
I liked the show but the gap was to big to overcome. This show needed to come on faster for people to remember it. It took some effort to watch and understand. I can see why some people didn't like it.

@Cal Use your brain? The first season was terrible. Especially the end. She ended up just being a crazy lady.
The thing that really shows that someone doesn't have a brain is being foolish enough to watch another season after seeing the first.

Good news though, @Jim. The Bachelor has been renewed.

@Jim, we get it. You don't like shows that require you to use your brain.

Simple question, how in the world does a show with a 4.5 user rating get canceled? OA was a creative oddity, sorry to see it go. Netflix should’ve at least allowed for a two episode finale.

Aww this is so sad. Even though the second season had a totally different vibe that the first, I still think it was good and it delivered on many levels. This is very sad. I hope it gets saved.

As much as I loved first season, I hated second! What a waste of time!

I'm not surprised it got cancelled. I'm surprised it even got a second season. The first season was terrible. Worst show I've seen in years.

I'll watch anything and everything Brit puts her sweat equity into.
