No Season 3 for the procedural drama.
August 17, 2019
Some sad news for Instinct fans this morning, as word is out that CBS has cancelled the procedural drama after two seasons. Series creator Michael Rauch took to Twitter to make the announcement, which comes with three episodes remaining in the show's run.
The hour-long series premiered last year as a mid-season entry. Airing Sunday nights, the show struggled in the ratings amid tough competition. CBS even briefly pulled it from the schedule, prompting a cancellation scare, but ended up issuing a renewal instead. The show returned this June for a summer sophomore run, but viewership this time around has tapered off substantially.
Instinct stars Alan Cumming and Bojana Novakovic in her first TV lead role. Cumming plays Dr. Dylan Reinhart, a former CIA operative who teams up with Novakovic's detective Lizzie Needham after his first book is used by a serial killer to commit his crimes. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially butt heads, they soon realize that they make a great team if they learn to trust their instincts.
Three episodes remain in Instinct's run. Back-to-back episodes are scheduled to air this Sunday, with the series finale set for Sunday, August 25.

Typical! This is a great show with a great cast so naturally, they can it. I'm so disgusted by the horrible programming network execs choose to keep on air while so many awesome, fresh shows like Instinct are tossed out! Books are my refuge and more and more, I'd prefer reading over watching another reality show about some hopeless romantic looking for love in a humilating game of who's zooming who.

It certainly doesn't help that anyone with a local CBS affiliate serviced by Nexstar that has DirecTV can't watch it unless they do so online or over the air.

Bad move, Great show. First you sabotage it by pulling it then you cancel it. I can think of other shows that should be cancelled! CBS better reevaluate what shows they axe

CBS needs to reconsider this cancellation. This show was the best from the very beginning. Some shows need the actors to gel first but this show was great right from the start. Please reconsider! If not CBS, maybe Netflix? Alan Cummings is such a talent. I liked seeing him every week. Very sad!

Booooooo! This show is funny, smart and on several occasions, charming. It had its cliche moments but it worked, and the two characters made the show fresh. I didn't think Dylan and Lizzie could have worked but they did, and I liked it.

While often times the script was cliche, it was entertaining. It made you think ahead to who dunnit while the characters work it out. I will not watch fake reality tv. I have a life. I have a brain. I enjoy using it. CBS continues to cancel good programs for anyone who actually wants to use brain cells. In fact, maybe that should be their new name. Cancel Brain Systems - The New TV Programming for dumbing down America. Yet another reason to read books and stream British programming that does make you think. Thanks for the push CBS!

Very disappointed in the cancellation. Said it before “reality tv” is the death of good shows cuz it’s cheaper

Really like the show. Are we getting to the point where everything has to be streaming so we get a season at a time. You really are going to be couch potatoes

Yet they renew Love Island. Guess get rid of any scripted shows for drivel to run every night. No Thanks!

I expected it to be only 3 seasons or less when I heard the title. Almost all one word titled shows at CBS are crap. Evil were not looking at you (cause you ain't gonna last).
