HBO announced today that A Black Lady Sketch Show has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes three weeks into the show's run, which has so-far been garnering a high amount critical acclaim.
Created by, written by, directed by, and starring a core cast of African-American women, the comedy series features sketches that touch on current and culturally-relevant themes like social norms, religion, sex, and relationships.
Look for Season 2 of A Black Lady Sketch Show in 2020.

wait a sec... Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Martin, blackish, a different world, my wife and kids, Bernie mac, family matters, Cosby show, the jeffersons, Tyler Perry house and those are just some that I personally liked... but those must have had some white people involved so we wont talk about them.
I'm glad African Americans are finally getting a voice and platform!! maybe one day there will be a black president and maybe even there own tv channel!! wakanda forever!!

^^^Most of those shows you referenced aired last century but go off. Representation matters and your ignorance is helping to highlight why. Also, it’s more than just showcasing black women on screen but behind the scenes as well with black women in the writers room. And it’s also the first show of its kind to ever exist, so the shows you referenced aren’t relevant to the insensitive and outdated point you failed to make.
