Amazon announced today that The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has been picked up for a fourth season. The good news comes the week after the period dramedy's Season 3 release, which the streaming service says was its most-watched opening weekend ever.

The series has been quite the success story since its 2017 debut. Each season has been met with a healthy amount of critical acclaim, and it has picked up numerous awards including best comedy from the Golden Globes, the Emmys, and the Critics' Choice Television Awards. It has also recently been nominated again in the best comedy category for multiple awards in 2020.

From Gilmore Girls creator Amy Sherman-Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel follows a 1950s Jewish housewife in New York City whose husband, who moonlights as a comedian, leaves her for another woman. When she returns to his old comedy club and impulsively gets on stage with an act about her current predicament, the audience loves it, leading her down an entirely new path.

Look for Season 4 to premiere in late 2020.
