Netflix announced today that Queer Eye has been picked up for a sixth season. The good news arrives early, as the reality series will not be releasing Season 5 until later this year.

An updated version of the 2003 original, the series has been enjoying a successful resurgence since its return to television in 2018. Queer Eye, or Queer Eye for the Straight Guy as it was first known, ran for four seasons on Bravo before it was cancelled in 2007. A decade later, the Netflix revival edition of the lifestyle-focused series features a new 'Fab Five' with expertise in fashion, culture, grooming, design, and food & wine.

The streaming service has been doing a good job of keeping a steady stream of episodes coming. Queer Eye has released two seasons plus a special in each of the last two years. With word that the crew has already arrived in Texas to film Season 6, it looks to be keeping its brisk pace in 2020. Season 5, which takes place in Philadelphia, will premiere this summer.
