CBS has confirmed that Survivor will be back for a 41st season. The good news came as the network released its returning lineup for the 2020-2021 season, further extending the veteran competition series' record-setting run as the longest-running reality show on broadcast network television.

On the air since the year 2000 with nearly 600 total episodes, the series is showing no signs of losing steam, as its ratings remain consistently solid. It is also one of few prime time shows that airs two cycles in a typical television season - another sign that viewers are not tiring of the format. For 2020-2021, only Season 41 is confirmed at this point, but a 42nd is likely.

The current 40th season of Survivor, dubbed "Winners at War", will be airing its finale next Wednesday. As the name implies, every contestant this time around had previously won the competition. The theme for Season 41 has not been announced, but could be previewed during next week's finale. A time frame for its premiere is not known, as filming has been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
