The cable dramedy will continue in 2021.

FX announced today that Mr Inbetween has been picked up for a third season. The good news comes half a year after the Australian crime dramedy aired its sophomore run, which once again drew high praise from both audiences and critics.
Created and written by Scott Ryan, who also stars, Mr Inbetween follows Ray Shoesmith, a divorced father with anger issues. He does his best to raise his daughter while having a personal life, all while working as a criminal-for-hire.
Look for Season 3 in 2021.

The lack of creativity charge is a weird one. Sure Mr Inbetween (Scott Ryan) has ripped off from all the shows that came before in the same way all shows do, but it seems pretty unique to me in comparison to almost anything else. I think it’s more you either like it or you don’t. It isn’t creativity or realism. It is a solid comedy. I grant you it is perverse. If it wasn’t so damn funny I might not like it either. It’s either funny or not to you.

...and this show has no creativity!

This show is awful. No nuances for a character who is an outright psychopath that the showrunner is trying to convince us has redeeming value because he is such a great daddy! And he gets away with the most outlandish stuff! Are all the cops in Australia a bunch of cowardly, stupid rubes? I think not; he would be locked up ten times over in reality. Not even close to believable. A really great show dealing with characters like these is for example The Sopranos or Breaking Bad, with terrible characters you care about because one sees their humanity despite themselves. And with terrific opponents, like Hank in BB.

One of my favorite shows out there. This is such good news. This channel should have picked up Happy! after it was cut by Syfy. The channel that runs this show is much more to that type of humor and originality.
