This series was not cancelled; it was murdered. After inexplicably killing off the original doctor and miscasting Jewel Strait to take his place, the show went steadily downhill. Bad writing, getting rid of original cast members and airing stories that went absolutely nowhere looked to me like deliberate decisions of "the powers that be" to get rid of a show that my daughter once characterized as "very good and yet strangely cheesy." Couldn't have put it better myself. I hung on as long as I could but the first show of the last season did me in. Would love to see it come back.

Unfortunately, Katie, the movie was cancelled when Stargate: Universe was cancelled. They, the "powers-that-be," decided that if one Stargate was cancelled' they wouldn't be able to make money on the movie. So sad...

I miss this show, and wish it could have lasted as long as its predecessor. I have heard rumors that they will be making a movie to follow, as they did with SG1, and I hope that it is so.
