An action drama where an intelligence agent receives a "burn notice" while on assignment in Nigeria.

The title of the show refers to the notices issued by intelligence agencies to announce the dismissal of agents who are now deemed unreliable.

When Michael Westen receives one of these "burn notices" while on assignment, he is dropped in Miami to fend for himself with no money or credentials to his name.

In order to fund his investigation into who sabotaged him and why, Michael takes on work as a freelance private investigator.

There is a interview with Jeffrey Donovan by TV guide and he said there may be a mini series, feature or a TV movie at the end of the season

Can't imagine why they cancelled this show. It was the best. The cast had to be the reason. I hope whoever made the decision will reconsider.

If what I have read on here is true, and the cast has decided to end Burn Notice, that is a real shame. It reminds me of another very popular show back in the 80's IO think it was called Cheers. Ted Danson decided he wanted to end the successful show, and has been trying every since then to be a star on a show that was that successful. These guys deciding to stop while on top, may be making mistakes that will haunt them forever. If you have a show that is doing good, you should ride the wave, you never know what could happen after that. WHO KNOWS MAYBE YOU WILL REGRET IT LATER... Maybe the next time you want to be a star, they could pick someone else.

This is an awesome show. It never gets old or boring & I always looked forward to seeing it!! I agree with others that you would take off a great show for some of these crappy reality shows & stupid comedies! This is a major mistake & I think you will find out it is a very bad decision. I am very disappointed & heartbroken!!

This show was NOT cancelled. The cast decided that they did not want to come back for a season 8 by CHOICE. They feel as if the story has ended and that they want to end on a high not, not a low note if they keep the story dragging on.

I watch USA most of the time because of the shows.
The Burn Notice cancellation is a disappointment, perhaps a change of writers would have been more appropriate.
Sorry to see the cast broken up, they worked well together.

do you read these? or your money is made and that's it? i am done with tv you are not giving the "masses" what they want. eventually we will STOP watching. I really don't give a sh@t that you are canceling burn notice, i love the show but i hate being a puppet, screw you, cancelling cable, you do not listen to your market audience.

USA, what were you thinking. My husband and I have been a faithful audience since the beginning. Why, oh why are you canceling such an awesome show. Please reconsider!!!!!
