A science fiction series set in the universe of the re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, some 58 years earlier.

Caprica tells the story of how humanity first created the robotic Cylons who would later plot to destroy humans in retaliation for their enslavement.

While Caprica contains references that have added significance to previous Battlestar lore, the series is meant to be accessible to new fans.

HBO needs to pick this up and make it right. Great back ground story, good actors and good writing for a SyFy show. (SyFy: Mediocre Nerd TV) Just needed a better network and production.

This was an amazing show. I saved the episodes and will watch them again some time later. Character development was in perfect sync with the main plot. Everything just worked and I was loving it. Soon as I start to really like a TV show I'm always expecting it to be cancelled, and most of the time they are. The two TV shows that also should have NEVER been cancelled are TERRA NOVA and the HBO series show ROME.

It is only a matter of time. Most of the elements required for this fiction to become fact are inevitable. Primarily, human imagination -- obviously in sufficient supply as evidenced by this show's existence. The hardware computational capacity for AI is conservatively put at around 30 years but as few as 10 or 15 with sufficient advancement in quantum computing. The programming language to describe an intelligent system or to reverse engineer the human mind is more debatable, but I strongly feel is also an unavoidable part of our future. Finally, the only aspect of the show's fiction which is unaccounted for is to finding a power source for the cylons, ships, etc... That might be the furthest away, who knows.

Another favorite show, cancelled. That's okay -- I'd rather watch a single season of this show than every season of most other shows.
