A crime thriller following a former CIA agent who is hired by a mysterious billionaire who has a state-of-the-art machine that predicts future crime victims.
Reese is a presumed-dead ex-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire named Finch. Together they are on a mission to prevent violent crimes using their own brand of justice.
Reese is trained in covert operations and Finch is a software genius who invented a program that uses special pattern recognition to identify people about to be involved in violent crimes. Together, they work outside the law and unravel the mystery of the 'person of interest' and stop each crime before it happens.

Season Five: a huge disappointment.
It was bad enough with Root being killed, but to kill off the character of John Reese?
Too many loose ends, and unsure if The Machine even rebooted itself.
Unforgivable.
If they reboot the series, there will have to be a replacement for Mr. Reese and someone for Shaw to befriend, or not.
Not sure if the character of Finch will make a comeback.

The Series Finale was a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. Depressing downer despite the survival of the Machine and demise of Samaritan. Even the music sounded like a funeral dirge rather than triumph. The last season trended in that direction with Samaritan winning all the time. Who wants to follow an evil villain show? Yuck! Next time these show runners want to do a finale, they should watch Game of Thrones. This season's GoT season finale was EPIC~ PoI, not so much.

The ending left so many holes and so many potential branches. This could reboot on, say, A&E or FX, and do quite well. Time will tell.
