A drama following a girl who discovers that the woman she knows as her mother abducted her as a child.
Carter Stevens thought she was a typical teenage girl living with her single mother. All of a sudden her world is turned upside down when a police bust at a party reveals that she was abducted by her mom when she was an infant.
Carter is now returned to the family who thought they had lost her long ago. She is introduced to new parents and a twin sister who will try to help her start over.
Carter is also now on a mission to find the woman who abducted her before the police lock up the only mother she's ever known.

Season 1 was everything!! The story was interesting and I looked forward to seeing where they took the characters. Then came the new season and it just fell apart, too much too soon gah! This show could have been amazing and they ruined it *sad*

I truly enjoyed the first season of Finding Carter. It was something refreshing, especially with all that's on TV nowadays. It was fun, dynamic, and covered a great deal of topics. The ambiance of the show had this raw, dark, and gritty feel that I loved. But, season two had far too much stuff going on to really deserve a second season. There was a lot being thrown in, especially Bird's story-line which only served for UNNECESSARY conflict later on! Don't get me wrong, as a female it's nice to see a little romance, but not one that served very little purpose. As a writer I guess that makes me a bit more critical. However, the writers really needed to find one element and work with it. I recommend watching S1 if you're looking for something a little different and very much angsty!
