An action adventure series based on the well-known comic book superhero speedster.

When Barry Allen was 11 years old, his life was forever changed when his mother was killed in a strange incident that saw his father falsely convicted of her murder. Years later, Barry has become a brilliant and focused crime scene investigator determined to learn the truth about his mother's death.

Fascinated with cutting edge scientific advancements, Barry discovers a particle accelerator created by S.T.A.R. Labs. During its public unveiling, a devastating explosion causes a freak storm that strikes Barry with a bolt of lightning. After months of being in a coma, Barry awakens to discover he has the ability of super speed, giving him unprecedented power.

Unfortunately Barry is not the only one affected by the explosion. Others now have new powers as well, and they're not using them for good. With unexplained deaths plaguing the city, Barry must become The Flash and use his gift of speed to protect its innocent citizens.

I don't know if I'm the only one but I absolutely hate the character Iris. I dislike her and I definitely dislike the idea of her being with Barry. I miss the blonde detective.

This show is great. Yes it's cheesey however not everything has to be super violent. They're enough shows like that. This is a show you can watch with your kids and still enjoy as an adult.

No doubt Wells is alive; it may not be the same Wells, but a wells from another dimension close enough to ours that the story line is similar. Oh yes, Wells lives, and he's crazy enough to take revenge for the Flash killing his doppleganger.
This show started out slow, like so many other superhero shows with the concept "monster of the week", however, the show evolved beyond this in a great way. About half way through, just before I gave up, the show mutated and become a favorite. I look forward to each episode now. With the technology and philosophy of physics this show is migrating towards the plot points are infinite. This is a great base upon which to build a long, long... long lived series. Just as long as the writers remain open to possibilities, the show has staying power. One of them must by needs become the foundation for the Justice League this show can lead the way. Let's face it, it's our dream come true show; one with unlimited possibilities. As a kid, I was one never to take sides. I loved DC first, and Marval 2nd; but, over the years only side with DC because it was first. I would love to see Marvel and Stan Lee take a point from the Flash; this is the kind of writing that has staying potential. Remember that!

Heard/read a very nasty rumor about Barry Allen dying and being replaced!!??.... don't do that. At first, I didn't care much for Barry, but now he IS the show. Don't yank the main character and expect the same results... bad enough Wells is gone, :-(
But this is TV.. he might be stuck in some vortex somewhere... hahaha

I don't know why but it seem as though they're turning this show into a soap opera. But maybe it's just me.

Well I can see why it is so popular with a certain demographic. Everyone between 18 and 30 can plug themselves into each character and trip-out with that persona. That's the way it's supposed to be, keep it up CW, good job ... My opinion ...

Cheesy huh ... well get ready for a lot more of the formage. Almost everything is cyclic. First the comic book, then the really cheesy TV series (Superman/Batman) then movies and now thanks to vastly improved SFX the series are back, expect a whole bunch more of it all. My opinion ... By the way I LOVE IT ALL !!!

Heavens to Alphas... A few adjustments here a little tweak there and you have The Flash. The aforementioned program didn't last even though I thought it was every bit as good as this shows can be ... good luck .
