It's 1977 in New York City and the city is broken down, violent, and on the verge of bankruptcy. In the South Bronx, a rag-tag crew of talented and soulful youth use verbal games, improvised dance steps, and spray cans to help transform music history at a time when the city gave birth to hip-hop, punk, and disco music.
