A fantasy drama following a trio's quest save the Four Lands from a demon army.
Thousands of years after the fall of mankind and civilization, the Four Lands is now in great danger. The fate of the world rests in the hands of an unlikely trio consisting of an Elven Princess, a human rover, and a half-human half-elf.
Together they embark on a quest to prevent a demon army from destroying the Four Lands.

I was happy to see the shanara books made into a series. It is well done for it's budget. this renewal is a good thing.

I have read many fantasy novels over the years, including all of the Shannara, and I have been more than dissapointed with this show.

I LOVE the show. I've never read the books but with any movie or tv show made from a book you have to think of them separately. Think of it as its own thing and enjoy it or dislike it for what it is.

I read The Sword of Shannara trilogy when I was a kid, and loved it. I always thought it should be made into some epic movies, but this TV series will have to do. That said, I thought this TV series was okay/good, and MTV did much better than I ever expected. If this goes into another season, I will watch.

I hope this very disappointing show is cancelled. MTV butchered a very good set of books. In the true fashion of MTV, they had to concentration on sexual tensions between the three main characters. This is not what the books were about. If it gets people reading his books, more power to it. But for those who absolutely loved the series as is, will be highly disappointed on the books as they focus on the mission and not sex or possible rape of characters. I hope someone else will make these books properly.

I have read all the books starting with the first "The Sword of Shannara" trilogy and they were some of the best fantasy books I ever read. So, I am very happy they brought it to tv and I am satisfied with what they are doing. I think they should have started with the first trilogy, because it's irritating when they do this out of sequence and the characters are briefly talking about what happened long ago, which if you didn't read it, it means nothing. But, I am looking forward to Season 2, which they better bring back..or else!!!
