To I'd be nihilistic if it mattered:
Google Jack Whitesides Parsons. With the exception of the werewolves - which I assume was some bizzare shout-out to his love of Sci-fi - the real life Jack was... how do I put this .... if "cults, rocket science, jet propulsion, WWII, homosexual tendencies, marriage discourse" is too much for you, they've only just scratched the surface.

I like it. It follows the story of Jack Parsons and his involvement in Thelema more or less close enough and it's entertaining. People who are complaining haven't read the books. I like it. I want it back for another season or two. Another 20 episodes and the story will be over so I hope it makes it the whole way.

First, I like this show. It has it's faults....admittedly. All shows do. It is based on a true story. Is the show all over the place? Yes...but there was a lot going on in the real story. We are smart though and we can keep up. Rupert Friend is one of my faves....recently coming off of Homeland. The weakest character I think is the Richard Onstead character played by Peter Mark Kendall. Just not doing a believable job IMHO. Are there some dark storylines? Yes, there are. Again, based on true events. Some related trivia: Jack Parsons character even befriends L.Ron Hubbard (creator of Scientology) and they go to the Aleister Crowley cult. Maybe if there is a 2nd season, that will be divulged.

This series is ALL OVER the place... werewolves, satan worship/cults, rocket science, jet propulsion, WWII, homosexual tendencies, marriage discourse.... it's as if each episode has no clue what episodes aired before it. It's just DREADFULLY WRITTEN without ANY semblance of order or storytelling. The acting, cinematography and direction seen all fine, but the writing seems to come from the mind of a heroin-addicted schizophrenic. Then top that off with a "pay to view" aspect and, well, I can't help but think CBS is airing it online only because they know it would bomb if presented on the network (not to mention the need to cut the few nude scenes). And once you've paid CBS.. they just want to show you they have content, even if it's horrible content. It's been 9 episodes and there's STILL no telling WHAT the ACTUAL story is supposed to be.

Fedup, if you haven’t noticed TV programs changed along time ago to 10-13 episodes stints, it’s rarity a program is on for the old 23 episode length.
Aethn, are you paying for it or just bitching about paying for it? I watched a lot of CBS and I pay for All-Access because it’s commercial free.
Ugh, wanna bet, what else is going to take its place, they have one show at a time n CBS All-Access.
I love the show, Rupert Friend is great and so is Jack Reynor. It’s also a true story about the man who created the rocket. To each his own, I guess.

Don’t even see this series making it a full season.

The worst part is CBS wants us to pay them EXTRA money for this on their terrible all-access money grab crap service.

More crap....... Are there any decent network execs/writers left ? The shows you guys pump out are sh*$. Then you throw them out there into these miniaturized "seasons" that are so short nothing gets any traction anyway....then you cancel them. If you have college degrees in this field, you should sue and get your money back.
