The Drew Barrymore comedy will return for Season 2.
March 29, 2017
Netflix announced this morning that Santa Clarita Diet has been picked up for a second season. The comedic horror, which stars Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant in each of their first projects on the streaming service, premiered last month with 10 episodes that were generally well-received by audiences and critics.
The series stars Barrymore and Olyphant as married realtors Sheila and Joel who live in the Los Angeles suburb of Santa Clarita. Their mundane lives take an unexpectedly-dark turn when Sheila goes through a dramatic change that leaves her needing human flesh to survive. With their lives upended, Joel does everything he can to provide for his family until they can figure things out.
Look for Season 2 of Santa Clarita Diet in 2018.

I love this show and i disagree i think Barrymore is perfect for this role. she has the right amount of realness, comedy and seriousness that makes it perfect for her. I actually am on the fence with the husband. The daughter is a bit annoying but cant wait to see what happens next season. :D

HATE HATE HATE Barrymore.. she is NOT sexy yet keeps getting cast as if she were.. someone needs to be HONEST with her.... but.. this show is actually okay. I cringe a bit at Barrymore's acting abilities, but Olyphant seems to carry the show past those "Barrymore" dips. Better casting for the wife would have made this show a smash hit. Until they kill off Barrymore... it'll just be "okay". Maybe Barrymore shoudl finally die at the opening of season 2 after biting a neighbor... and then they can focus on that???
