NBC has pulled The Listener from its schedule, effective at the end of July.
July 16, 2009
The network announced Wednesday that the drama will be replaced with Law and Order, which will air repeats starting Thursday, July 30.
Originally scheduled through August, five episodes of The Listener will remain unaired on the network. It is speculated that ratings fell to levels too low for NBC to accept.
Update: Production on the series remains ongoing, with Canadian network CTV continuing to broadcast new episodes.

The series finale was shown on 8/18/14 and concludes the show. There will not be a 6th season, too bad because I liked the show.

I don't know if this helps anyone or not, but ION TV has been airing the Listener on Tues and again on Sat nights. After they finished airing season 4 from CTV, they went right back to season 1. They are currently airing the early episodes of season 2. Since they seem to just go around and around on any shows they air, I've been assuming they will air season 5 as soon as it finishes airing in Canada and can be added to the syndication package.
I was devastated when they cancelled it in the US way back when this page was written so I was beyond thrilled to find it still in production and airing in the US on ION. I hope that is a network that is nationwide and easy to find. For me, it is on Comcast on the network that used to be PAX TV.
It is a great show so I hope anyone who wants to is able to find it.....

No is it not canceled, the new season is now being shown. You can also find the episodes of the show online on various web sites. I don't live in CTV land so I can't view it on their web site.
