Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest project will not return.
May 11, 2012
The CW has cancelled Ringer after one season. The freshman drama was Sarah Michelle Gellar's latest venture back to television, but fell short of the success earned from her last successful series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which ran for seven years.
Things looked good when Ringer first premiered last September. It was the first new series on The CW to receive a full season pick up, giving the series hope for a bright future. Ratings, however, took a turn for the worse - along with many other shows on the network, it should be noted - and fell to the 0.4-0.5 range among adults 18-49 for the second half of the season.
The network obviously couldn't justify renewing the series at its current viewership level, even given the star power of Gellar, who has her own legion of dedicated fans.

They need to bring Ringer back!!! They can cancel that horrible LA Complex instead of renewing it, or even get rid of 90210, as it has run its course!! BRING RINGER BACK!!! BRING RINGER BACK!!! BRING RINGER BACK!!!!!

So the viewers are left hanging again. Why can't they at least wrap up the story instead of leaving the viewers hanging. UNBEALIVABLE AGAIN

The cw will eventually realize that they made a grave error in canceling on the top shows they ever had which is the ringer. They will realize this when the ratings drop causing chaos in the tv network studios. Soon they will find out what loyle fanhood is all about when their fans from the network decide to stop watching it all together because of the stupid decisions that they have made

I don't watch any shows on the Cw but tuned in to Ringer because I am a huge SMG fan. I really enjoyed the show and recorded it every week. Guess I wont be tuning in to Cw anymore since they canceled the one good show.

Very disappointed with both cancellations. I know the critics slammed Ringer, but i liked it and tuned in every week. Some of the characters could have had better plotlines but some were great! I liked that it was different from other shows, kept me guessing, and I tuned in every week. Of course, liked SMG. I also like The Secret Circle and was very surprised this was cancelled. Characters were established and their storylines had plenty of places to go. It's a shame with all the bad shows on that these were cancelled.

Im really not surprised that this show was cancelled, the plot went from unbelievable to totally ridiculous. I watched the 1st half but didnt bother after the season break, along with many others it would seem. Its such a shame because the premise for the show was really good just a pity it turned into a tacky soap!
