Miami is the first of the franchise to end.
May 13, 2012
Some sad news for fans of the long-running CSI: Miami. CBS has cancelled the crime drama spin-off after 10 seasons on the air. The show got its start back in 2002, two years after the network realized it had a franchise-in-the-making with the popular CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.
CSI: Miami is the first of the franchise to be cancelled. The series ends after 232 episodes. In related news, CSI: NY was renewed today for a ninth season.

There is no use to comment, you have done it, took off one of the best, probably to replace it with some dumb outer space stuff or unreal show. Just read what Vixen 81 wrote, that says it all.............

I agree with a comment above. The move to Sunday night all but doomed Miami. The football games always run over their alotted time which in turn causes the shows behind it to run over. I am a Good Wife fan and was afraid of the move to Sunday. If you want proof, look at Cold Case and Without a Trace, both were great shows doing very well on Thursdays, then got moved to Sunday and got cancelled.

I always enjoyed CSI:Miami. I hate to see it go. Why do you keep putting so many of those stupid reality shows on and get rid of all the really good watchable ones? So far you cancelled alot of my fav shows. What are you replacing them with.....more reality shows? UGH. I thought CBS was the best channel around. I now have to rethink my choice. Even the new shows you showed are starting to disappear. Find out what the people like before you cancel.

like other studios that do the same with their cash-cow shows, they keep them going until they are well into syndication territory and then can them.
why keep making a show at an expense when you make as much money as new episodes from all the old ones being shown repeatedly around the world.
Besides that point, too many spin-offs from one show always spells doom for one or all of the down the line (ala Star Trek, Stargate etc.).

CBS is the one that screwed Miami. They killed it by putting it on Sunday nights after some stupid sports game that ran over and then ran everything else over. I have to tape Miami on my DVR and missed so many episodes bc it ran late. I think if CBS put it on a decent night again that wouldn't screw with the broadcast it could pick up all it's lost viewers.

CBS - What is the deal with all the cancellations of some decent shows?

Here in the UK we have yet to see the final season - it starts in July. Such a pity - I loved Horatio's lines, and the act with the glasses. No show can go on forever - even "Law & Order" got cancelled - but "Miami" was still in its prime with much more to offer. Maybe a cable company will pick it up as happened with "L&O CI". I guess its an expensive show to make though.

CBS this is a very poor business decision! The Good Wife, CSI Vegas, CSI, and the other shows that are on sundays and mondays will never measure up to CSI MIAMI!Yall Suck!
