HBO will not be ordering a third season of the dramedy.
March 20, 2013
HBO has decided to end half-hour dramedy Enlightened after two seasons on the air.
"It was a very difficult decision," said the network in a statement released to the press. "We're proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future."
Enlightened ran for a total of 18 episodes, with its series finale airing on March 3, 2013. Dern starred in the series as Amy, a troubled executive trying to get her life back together. She won a Golden Globe last year for the role.

Crap, this was a blow to me. I really enjoyed this show a lot. I guess that's what happens when the execs put all the money into Game of Thrones.

I liked it -- especially the second season. But they only gave us eight episodes and definitely could have done the usual 10 and given us more closure. I liked the writing and Laura Dern was terrific. Sorry to see it go -- it was an easy watch.

The first season is on DVD and Blu-ray. It says no to DVD above.

Oh well. It is HBO. Did you expect it to last?
I will never put time into watching another HBO series. Especially after cancelling Hung, and Welcome to America... and lackluster endings, to great shows like The Sopranos and Entourage.
Just not worth your time.
And sorry. I cannot get onto the "Girls" bandwagon.
