BBC America's original drama will not return.
September 19, 2013
BBC America has decided to cancel Copper after two seasons on the air. The period drama was the cable network's first original scripted drama, but ultimately failed to attract a large enough audience in its second season.

Nooooo! I love this show. This is one of the best shows on air. This is such a well-made show that it will leave a void. BBC America, please reverse! If a large enough audience wasn't attracted it is a marketing failure, not a failure of the show itself. It has a great cast and great storyline. I want to know what happens next...

Thats a shame, this was the best non Doctor Who related show on BBC.

Stage design, location, props were so realistic, you could almost SMELL 1860 NYC Five Points, which could have made the show's longevity cut short due to production costs. I recorded all of the episodes. Same time slot as Breaking Bad probably did not help either.

This is a pity. I'll admit I have much of season 2 still on my DVR, however, that's because I like to have binge days. I'm really responding to Netflix's new model of releasing full seasons of a show so people can watch how they want to. It really does suck that shows are kept or not based solely on air ratings. Going to miss you Copper!

I never had a hint that this show wouldn't make it, everyone in my house looked forward to every episode. I saw it as great telling of a story and done in a very good way. I thought it was a quality production. I guess I was wrong, people of quality would at least let the story wrap up.
