The new comedy gets the early axe.

CBS has cancelled new comedy Friends with Better Lives. The mid-season series premiered in late March and is only five episodes into its run. Ratings for the show have been average thus far but clearly not at levels the network would like to see in its time slot.
The series marks star James Van Der Beek's second failed venture into television comedy in recent years. His last series, Don't Trust The B---- In Apartment 23, fared better but was cancelled midway through its second season.

So bummed , it was funny and it I agree needs to be given a chance to get more viewers! It was the first I liked a show that had just started, oh I hope they bring it back! It should been given more time to get picked up by more viewers!this one was a goodie!

We absolutely adored this show. Looked forward ti watching it every week. It made us laugh the whole way through, every show! Hard to find in a sitcom now. Please consider bringing it back.

WHAT???!!!! I cant believe the show got cancelled!! I wasnt even watching it on tv, I followed it trough internet,so good was the show! This show is hilarious, I laughed hard during every episode!

NOOOOO!!!!!!! I really liked this show. Maybe it could be a show just for Netflix. This so such a funny show and don't watch that many shows.

The network didn't even give it a chance! New shows are cancelled so quickly these days. Let's face it....most of
the shows are reality-based and they are on for years!
I don't watch them and none of my friends do either.

Come on CBS - stop canceling shows before they can be watched through word of mouth. If the rating were adverse in the time slot - Change the slot! It doesn't cost anything and you won't lose the money you invested to develop the show. Is it any wonder AMC's The Walking Dead and HBO's Game of thrones are the two top shows being watched? They both made commitments to at least one full season so we as viewers could become invested in the show without the worry it would be pulled partway. Get it?

I loved it! I could watch it every night. Laughed through the whole thing! Recorded all 5 episodes.

I thought the show was EXCELLENT...I was looking forward to watching it every week..I agree with some of the other posters in that the networks need more good shows like Friends With Better Lives to replace the STUPID FRICKIN reality tv shows...come on..everybody knows the stupid reality shows are staged..WTF
