The Halle Berry drama will return for Season 2.
October 9, 2014
CBS announced today that Extant has been renewed for a second season. The freshman drama will continue to air as a summer series in 2015 along with Under the Dome, which was just renewed for a third season.
"We're committed to delivering our viewers and advertisers year-round programming with a wide variety of storytelling," said CBS Entertainment Chairman, Nina Tassler. "We continue to see summer as a great place for unique concepts, innovative business models and passionate television audiences."
While Extant did not fare as well as Under the Dome did in its first two seasons, it won its 10:00pm time period with 8.64 million viewers plus it had additional viewing on Amazon Prime Instant Video.

EXTANT--HAS A GREAT DEAL OF POTENTIAL IF PLACED IN THE HANDS OF GREAT WRITERS!!!! THIS COULD BE ANOTHER STAR TREK IF HANDLED RIGHT!!!
Merry Christmas Everyone !!
Remember the reason for the season.
God Bless you.
This and Under The Doom are totally out of character for CBS. They would cancel Unforgettable and keep SyFi?
CBS is number 1 because of NCIS, NCISLA, and other shows with action and drama. Extant should be on ABC or NBC. Do what you do best and you can keep the winning formula.
