The teen dramedy ends after one season.
January 8, 2015
It is being reported that MTV has cancelled Happyland after its first season. The soapy teen dramedy ran for eight episodes last fall but failed to attract a sizable audience in its Tuesday night time slot.

Wish someone would cancel MTV altogether.... Nothing on that network is worth watching..back when jackass and bam margera were the latest fad..that was decent enough to watch...I miss the days of turning on MTV and watching music or music related programs...I do like the fact those jersey shore assboles are not in the spotlight anymore...the women on that show are disgusting...spread em for a happy meal bitch guttermouth trash bag ho bags..the guys are just your typical average 'loid from jersey...every show MTV has now has a Jersey shore vibe worked in somewhere...big joke

I agree, get rid of this crap and go back to music. I haven't watched MTV or VH1 in literally DECADES. All they put out there is horrible reality and horrible tween shows that fail after a few episodes or 1 season.

How sad, Cameron Moulene was so perfectly cast in it. They keep doing this, RJ Berger and Death Valley were quite funny.

I sorta enjoyed this show, though i cant say I'm really surprised it ended up getting cancelled. It followed all the basic tv tropes so that made it somewhat predictable (and the fact that the character appearances were almost identical to those on Awkward. probably didn't help).

MTV is still a network, I forgot all about it about 20 years ago when they stopped having MUSIC on it

Maybe MTV (Music TV) should go back to playing music video and have musical guests on like the good old days! :)

My first reaction was "MTV has scripted programming?"
After looking up the growing pile of first season cancellation wreckage, its pretty clear I'm far from the only person who assumed every MTV title was going to be reality or some current pop-idol documentary series.
MTV's just reaping what they've sown, by airing relaity and pop star fluff for years. Won't speak for everyone, but I'm not about to take them seriously as a scripted entertainment option.
