The new comedy will not return for Season 2.
September 14, 2015
It is being reported that NBC has cancelled Mr. Robinson after one season. The freshman comedy will not be returning after airing for a short, six episode run this summer. With back-to-back episodes airing across a three-week span, the show quickly came and went without registering much fanfare.

This show was pretty good. Played outside the same ol- stereotypes that the media liked to use on African Americans. A blues/jazz musician AND a teacher? Shouldnt be considered boring and the trashy Empire of stereotypes-embracing soap opera show be considered popular TV.

It wasn't a bad show, if it was presented on BET, it would've probably gotten a second season. This show is better than the new punkd show they have BET, they should replace punkd on BET with Mr. Robinson keeping the same characters of course.

Never heard of it,but the tilte reminds me of the old Eddie Murphy skit on SNL,Mr Robinson's neighborhood, which was probably a lot funnier.

This show looked and played out of date. like if this was the late 80s or 90s it would be a hit on ABC Family, but not on NBC Prime time in 2015. I kinda enjoyed it though.

HA! "better writing" ... ermmm... isn't that what EVERY bad show needs???? That's too funny. Dinner was okay.. it had potential.. just needed better food. My job is okay... has potential.. just needs better tasks. HA!!!!!!

I saw all six episodes and thought the show had potential. All it needed was to get better writing if given a second season (Greg Daniels came to mind).

If NBC would just hire me as a consultant I could save them a lot of money.
They try to hard to be so politically correct.
1. This was just a terrible idea for a show.
2. Craig Robinson is a nice guy, but honestly, even in The Office, he was not even good. He played a boring character that at time I found annoying.
NBC - get back to the days of Cheers and Seinfeld and the great shows.. there is no way you thought this show would even last 2 years...
