ABC has cut back on the new drama's season.
October 23, 2015
It is being reported that ABC has trimmed the episode count for Blood & Oil, down to 10 from its original order of 13. The move comes after a slow start for the drama on Sundays, where it ranks as the lowest-performing series in the network's prime time lineup for the night.
For now the show's remaining six episodes are still scheduled to air, which will see it wrapping up in December. A second season, however, does not look to be in the cards.

I like it, but then I don't watch it on Sundays. Rhett is right about he dvr watchers, I think. It is up against a whole pile of heavy hitters-- very successful long running shows on Sunday. They need to try a different night for this one and see if the viewership increases.

I'm in disbelief, i've watched every episode so far and thought this show had real promise.

I agree it is on late 11:00pm where i live and i DVR it every Sunday and watch it later. I think it has the potential to be a GREAT show! I will be sad to see it canceled

Good, this is just a bad rehash of Dallas

This is the newer Dallas and Lone Star all over again. Great premise, poor timing and not considering DVR watchers. The heads of the networks who are canceling all of these shows need to take a poll of the general public, and then take that into account before giving quality shows the axe.

The wife and I just watched the first 4 episodes tonight on dvr, we really like it. I can't believe they are already talking it only lasting 1 season....
