NBC has cut back on the first season of Truth Be Told, trimming its episodes down to 10 from its original order of 13. The freshman comedy, which has only been on the air for two weeks, has not performed well in its 8:30pm Friday time slot.

With its slow start and episode reduction, a second season for Truth Be Told is out of the question. The show remains on the network's schedule for now, where it will likely stay to air its remaining eight episodes.

Cutting back on struggling shows appears to a trend this season, as other low-rated freshman series have also been getting cut back by other networks. ABC's Blood & Oil, NBC's The Player, and Fox's Minority Report have all had their original episode orders shortened after slow starts.
