NBC has cancelled Telenovela after its first season. The freshman comedy, which starred Eva Longoria in a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional telenovela, failed to catch on with viewers during its 11-episode first season. The show was paired with fellow newcomer Superstore, which has been picked up for Season 2 after a warmer reception from both critics and viewers.

I loved this show. It was hilarious. All of the characters were over the top. That made the show funny. It showed how being self centered was ridiculous. In every show at least one of them would recognize that being selfish wasn't the best way to be. It showed how people could grow and become more concerned about the feelings of others.

Eva L. has lost it.. most don't respect her anymore after her comments against the US then she follows that with this awful show. It was and is horrible.
3 failed projects in a row, time to retire Eva.

I liked this show because it had a unique concept (a sitcom that had a behind-the-scenes look at a fictional telenovela) and it had a well-rounded cast. Color me disappointed.

Eva Longoria is awful. She became tedious the last couple seasons of Desperate Housewives and then we she decided to become political, most of the US couldn't stand her anymore.....time for her to retire and STFU

I thought it was pretty funny. But, I guess my tastes are different than many people b/c I certainly liked this, Grandfathered and The Grinder better than Last Man Standing and Dr. Ken!

I liked Telenovela. Sure it was stupid at times. But it was still stupid funny. I know ratings were super-low. Lower than some other shows that were already canceled. I held out hope. But knew the end was certain.

I agree with Jodi. It had some funny moments and I think it had potential, just something didn't quite work right.

Not surprised really. I liked it okay but I never found it funny, it was just okay. It was good to have on the background not gonna miss it really
