No Season 2 for the movie-based drama.
May 25, 2016
CBS has cancelled Limitless after its first season. The news comes a week after the freshman drama was left off the network's 2016-2017 schedule, though at the time executives stated they were exploring moving the series to another network.
Confirmation of Limitless' cancellation came this afternoon from showrunner Craig Sweeny, who took to Twitter with the news:
"I'm truly sad to report that #Limitless will not continue on any platform. Thanks so much to everyone who watched."

I'm bummed but I was worried this was going to happen. Really liked this one a lot. It followed the common formula, but it had goofiness woven into it, that's what made it enjoyable. Will definitely miss it.

It was a great show IMO. I love Brian with his story boards, punch outs and his childlike humor...both Jake and Jennifer are good actors...they will land on their feet. It seems now that it will be best to start watching shows in their second season. Then catch the 1st season on Hulu, etc rather going through the annual disappointment every May.

I really liked this show for almost the entire season. I was disappointed in the finale the way it was setting up the series to be more of the same. It would have been more intriguing if Brian (who now had permanent immunity) could have left the FBI and used his mind in a variety of alternative environments like NASA or Space X or developing solutions to climate change, etc. It got a little boring remaining within the confines of the law enforcement scripts. It could have been a lot more than it turned out to be. Too bad it won't get the chance to evolve.

And they wonder why we don't want to watch new shows when they keep doing this

I'm so surprised it got cancelled. It had millions of viewers. I thought it was different and very funny.

well another sci fi show bites the dust. there was a lot of humor in this one And I thought it was pretty good. It was a easy watch that went quickly. It wasn't supposed to be deep like 'the americans' or such. But I will miss this one.

Really?? Fresh? It was taken from a movie. Creative? Again,it was taken from a movie. Unique? How so, it was the same cop/legal/detective/forensic formula EVERY show of this genre follows. I actually liked the pilot episode. But then episode 2 fell right into that standard cop formula format... and by episode 3 when the tired formula was still there I gave up. I think the networks need to realize that many viewers are catching onto the formula and while the MAIN story may be intriguing, the problem is that every episode only contains 5-7 minutes of the MAIN story.. then filler for 35 minutes. The reason shows like Longmire, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, The Americans, Mad Men, Sons of Anarchy, et al, do well is that the episodes don't consist of 35 minutes of COMPLETELY unrelated "filler" stories with the cop/detective/ME/schlub chasing down some bad guy. It's like signing up for a "free getaway weekend" only to realize you have to sit though 8 hours of timeshare sales talks every day. Sure you may enjoy a small amount of time in the morning and evening, but the bulk of your day is going to be horrible....... it's bait and switch. Write a straight, intriguing story.. and the shows are watchable. These formulaic cop shows are all just garbage.
