No Season 2 for the dating series.

Fox announced at TCA today that summer dating series Coupled has been cancelled after one season. Created by famed reality show producer Mark Burnett, the Caribbean islands-based show attempted to pair up single men and women based on their initial chemistry.
The freshman series was a rare miss for Burnett, whose name is attached to mega-hits such as The Voice, Survivor, and Shark Tank. Viewers didn't really take to Coupled, however, as its 11-episode run failed to generate much in the way of buzz or ratings. The show's final episode aired earlier this month.

In short.. Mark Burnett is to television what M. Knight Shyamalan is to film... started strong but is just scraping the bottom of the barrel now.

Kminer... Burnett had some great ideas 10-20 years ago.. since then he's just put out crap after crap. All his "successful" shows have been on the air for at least 10 years. It's not like he's come up with ANYTHING in the past decade worth any merit. I had a great year when I was in 8th grade... should I then be allowed to coast the rest of my life on that good year? Publish or perish, so to speak. (And, personally, I don't know the man... don't "Hate" him.. I just think his programming is not a "selling point" the way networks think it is. Today, when I hear "From creator Mark Burnett" I just assume it's another less-than-stellar pseudo dating show.)

There wasn't enough back stabbing and fighting going on for it to get people's interest. But, what is with this ted and Pope hating on Burnett. I've never seen someone do that to a producer on this site. Oh well, ted, Burnett isn't going anywhere, so you shouldn't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

Aww, too bad. This was fun to watch. Liked guessing which girls would "go right" for the guys and liked the laid-back atmosphere of the ladies' villas. Not as crazy about the show once so many were coupled and they focused on the couples house more. Oh well, thought it was a nice summer show that seemed more intelligent than the comparable bachelor in paradise.

Wow, a reality show was cancelled? That's practically unheard of, considering they cost the network about a buck fifty each to tape/edit/air.
