It is being reported that TLC has renewed Tyler Perry's Too Close To Home for a second season. The freshman drama, which is just two episodes into its run, is the cable network's first-ever scripted series.

The pickup follows a strong performance of the show's premiere episode, which has been seen by 4.2 million viewers in airings across TLC and OWN combined. Its viewership on TLC alone helped give the network its highest-rated Monday night in over a year among key women demographics.

Too Close To Home follows all the drama that occurs when a woman returns home to face her troubled past after causing a career-related political scandal in Washington, D.C. New episodes are currently airing Monday nights at 9:00pm.

Look for Season 2 of Too Close To Home to premiere in 2017.
