The Cameron Crowe dramedy will not return for Season 2.
September 16, 2016
It's one and done for Roadies. Showtime has cancelled the freshman summer series after its first season. Following an eclectic road crew who work on a rock band's major tour, the hour-long dramatic comedy premiered in June for a 10-episode run that ended in late August.
Created by Cameron Crowe, the series marked the famed writer-director's first foray into television. Reception by both audiences and critics, however, was decidedly mixed, resulting in lackluster ratings that fell short of expectations.
Roadies' cancellation is the third music-related series casualty this summer. HBO's Vinyl and FX's Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll were both recently axed after failing to catch on with viewers.

Just want to point out that the show creators/runners made the decision to end Penny Dreadful. It wasn't that Showtime canceled it.
And as far as Roadies, even though personally knowing one of the actors, I have never bothered to watch it. So, not really a loss for me.

OMG Showtime...first you cancel Penny Dreadful and now Rhoadies. I might as well quit watching Ray Donovan, The Affair and Master/Johnson since you have a habit of cancelling shows.

And another one is gone.. every time I find a show that I like it is cancelled. Feels like I really need to get a life and stop watching TV.

WHAT NOOOOO I love this show, I thought it was interesting and a little kookie and worth watching! The musical guests were great, yes the storyline was a little weird at times but thats what made it fun to watch!

I'm in agreement with most of everyone who posted. The show, while promising, turned boring really fast. The writing wasn't bad, it's just that, the writer's wrote for themselves, and not for Showtime's viewers. I really tried to like this show. Too bad.

My broke, stoned, lousy, foray into the band scene in my 20's was WAY more exciting and eventful than this apparent "professional" tour was. Really lame show. Just pretentious crap from Crowe being the "wannabe" he's always been (and everything he writes depicts).

They gave it 10 episodes. They gave it time. Nobody can reasonable argue that they did not give it a chance.I mean somebody will. I have heard people complain after 4 seasons. if a show gets 10 episodes and can not live up to the standards then a cancellation is not to soon.

Blame viewers and critics all you want but it's not there fault. The only reason I new this show existed was cause of late night talk shows. It could be the greatest series in history but if no one knows about it they're not gonna schedule it into there calendars under in case a surprise series happens to premiere. Sry to fans but look at it this way the actors now have a chance to be in a series ten fold better.
