Bravo orders more of the mom clique comedy.
September 22, 2016
Bravo announced today that Odd Mom Out has been renewed for a third season. The comedy is coming off its recently-concluded sophomore run where it continued its steady performance for the cable network.
Odd Mom Out, which is Bravo's first original scripted comedy, stars Jill Kargman - who also created the series - as a New York woman trying to fit in with a clique of wealthy Upper East Side mothers. The show's debut run in 2015 was the network's highest-rated new series of the season.
Another 10 episodes have been ordered for Season 3 of Odd Mom Out, matching its count for Seasons 1 and 2. Production is expected to begin in spring 2017, with a premiere following later in the year.

Well the season 2 finale provided a rich tableau for plenty of plot lines going forward. An embarrassment of riches (if you'll excuse the pun). Sometimes a show runner falters when that happens. I liked the first season a lot, the second season not so much. Expectations are high for season 3.

Show isn't that bad... but it really isn't a "fish out of water" story. The "odd mom" isn't that "odd" she THINKS she's different, but the show does a bad job of supporting that premise overall. It can still be entertaining... but it really is the "plight of rich people in New York" not a "mom trying to fit in". But... with the end of season 2... season 3 may be more interesting since the rich family members appear to have lost everything.
