The FBI drama will return with a shortened run.
May 15, 2017
There is some good news to announce for Quantico fans this evening, as ABC has renewed the drama for a third season. The show was sitting firmly on the bubble as of late due to its ratings taking a hit during its sophomore run.
Season 3 will come with a couple of changes in the form of a new showrunner as well a lowered episode count. Creator Josh Safran will be stepping away from the series going forward, with a replacement at the helm to be named at a later date. He will reportedly still be available as a consultant.
As for the number of episodes, ABC has ordered 13 for 2017-2018, down from the 22 the show received in Seasons 1 and 2.
Quantico came onto the scene in 2015 with successful debut run and quickly became the #1 broadcast series on Sunday nights among adults 18-49. Its buzz quieted down somewhat by the end of its first season, but its numbers still warranted a sophomore pickup. Season 2 saw its viewership slip further, and a move from Sundays to Mondays did little to change its fortunes. Still, the series will be back for at least one more season with a likely premiere in the fall.

Besides a shortened season the new show runner has gotten rid of the twins,Yasmine Al Masri who plays Nimah and the other twin said on twitter the other day she wouldn't be back, said the new show runner let her know that

They lost us as viewers in Season 2, I am afraid. Congrats to the Quantico cast for being renewed. I just hope the writers find a place to take it. Story in Season 2 seemed to not go anywhere fast. Love the acting, though, and Season 1 was outstanding all around.

THE FIRST SEASON OF THIS SHOW WAS FAR BETTER THAN AVERAGE, THE SECOND SEASON, FAR WORSE. THE PLOT IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. I WILL WATCH THE FIRST EPISODE OF SEASON THREE, HOWEVER, IF IT TURNS OUT AS POORLY WRITTEN AS SEASON TWO, I WILL "THROW IN THE TOWEL".

Can not believe this show actually got a renewal. Are you serious. The first season was pretty good. I just could not get into the second season at all. American crime get canceled along with The catch and secrets and lies. But this makes it. Sad sad day

I started out really enjoying it, but it got too political, too involved, and became way less entertaining. Hopefully they reboot and start over with some good solid plots, that don't completely try to tell viewers which way to lean in real life. We already have enough of that stuff. I, too, would have been ok just leaving it the way it wrapped up at the end of this season.

I thought the first season as good. Although many times I would be watching a scene and think, there is no way that would really happen. I tried to watch season 2, but they basically reboot the show with the same plot only this time they are in the CIA. I can't imagine where a third season is going to go. Maybe she can join the NSA, or become a member of the secret service. No matter what happens I will probably pass.

The season finale could have easily been a series finale. There were no loose ends or cliffhangers. Alex was flying off to parts unknown. With only 8 episodes ordered for season 3, the next season will probably be the last.

This overly dramatized piece of garbage get renewed but Last Man Standing - with its better ratings gets cancelled? Come on ABC - get with the program

Loved the first season. gave up pretty early in the 2nd season with the shows 2 timelines being harder to tell apart.
