Another one bites the dust at Amazon. It is being reported that that the streaming giant has cancelled The Last Tycoon after just one season. The move comes only a couple of days after fellow Amazon rookie Z: The Beginning of Everything was also axed at the studio.
Based on F. Scott Fitzgerald's unfinished and posthumously-published book of the same name, The Last Tycoon takes place in 1930s Hollywood and follows talented studio executive Monroe Stahr trying to find his place within the movie industry. In the midst of the Depression, Monroe is involved in a power struggle for the future of the studio. When an Irish waitress catches his eye, it ignites a spark that helps motivate him to create a film of great importance during his quest of power.

Quite a bad move, this was one of the best shows out there. That's one I really hope gets picked up somewhere. I thought Bomer was Emmy caliber.

Red Oaks is pretty good, as so is Catastrophe. The Man In The High Castle is the best thing on Prime Video, imo. The Tick was also very well done.

So disappointed in Amazon and their program decisions. This latest blow has made me decide to cancel subscription. Only Bosch and Goliath worth watching
