Hulu announced today that Ramy has been picked up for a second season. The early renewal comes less than two weeks after the comedy's freshman release, which has been garnering high critical praise for its portrayal of Muslim-American life.

The series follows the titular character, who is a twenty-something first-generation Egyptian-American living in a politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood. As he lives his daily life, he is torn between a Muslim community which believes that life is a moral test, and a newer generation that lives life as if there are no consequences.

Another 10 episodes have been ordered for Season 2 of Ramy, which is eyeing a 2020 return.
