The new comedy will return for Season 2.
May 10, 2019
ABC announced today that Single Parents has been picked up for a second season. The good news comes two days following the conclusion of its freshman season, which fared well for the network in its post-Modern Family time slot.
The half-hour sitcom got off to a strong start last fall, becoming the early frontrunner for 2018-2019's top new comedy among adults 18-49. The network topped up its freshman order after just three weeks, making it the fall's first new comedy to earn a full season pickup.
Single Parents follows single dad Will Cooper, whose 7-year-old daughter is starting her first day of elementary school. There, he gets to know a group of other single parents, who notice that Will is just a bit too into parenting and less focused on his own life. Wanting to help Will remember the man he once was, his new dysfunctional group of friends send him out in the dating world as a way to make him realize that being a good parent doesn't mean losing your own identity.
Look for Season 2 of Single Parents to premiere this fall.

Loved this show from the first episode. Quirky characters are my weakness & gawd knows this show has 'em! Glad to hear about the season 2 renewal & hope there's a season 3!!

Seriously, this garbage got renewed and they cancelled "The Kids Are Alright'??? I just don't understand this.
The ONLY good person on this show is Brad Garrett. Everyone else is terrible, especially the children!!

I'm glad it got renewed. It was rocky at first but the cast has gelled.

Interesting. I wasn't sure how this show would do. I love Leighton Meester so I was excited to hear she had a new show. I'll have to keep on watching. I'm a bit behind but didn't want to invest in too much time until it got renewed or cancelled. Happy to see it was renewed! As a new Mom I'm super stoked to watch this now!

Not unexpected but still fantastic news. The inevitable hook-ups between the main cast have started but there is a lot of room to move around with storylines.
