Netflix has cancelled Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj, the only talk show currently in its lineup. Minhaj took to Twitter today with the news, thanking the streamer and his viewers.
The former Daily Show correspondent hosted the series, which brought an incisive and nuanced perspective to topical worldwide news, politics, and culture. On the air since 2018, the show had a total of 40 episodes under its belt.
Patriot Act ends as Netflix's longest-running talk show. The streaming giant has made numerous attempts at the talk/variety format but hasn't really found anything else that sticks as of late.
What a run. @patriotact has come to an end. I got to work with the best writers, producers, researchers, and animators in the game. My 2 babies were born and grew up with the show. TY to @Netflix and everyone who watched. Now it’s time to return these screens to Best Buy 😎 pic.twitter.com/4s4TrsKWe6— Hasan Minhaj (@hasanminhaj) August 18, 2020
It's right-wing vernacular for anyone that doesn't think the status quo is perfect just as it is and that fighting for equality is some form of weakness.
