No Season 2 for the Marvel drama.
December 14, 2020
It is being reported that Hulu has cancelled Helstrom after one season. The sad news comes two months after the drama's freshman season was released, and just days after the streamer's owner, Disney, announced plans for 10 new Marvel-based series on Disney+.
Based on the Marvel Comics characters Daimon and Satana Hellstrom, the show follows the siblings, who are the children of a powerful and mysterious serial killer. As they navigate their complicated dynamic, the duo hunt down the worst of humanity — each with their own attitude and skillsets.

I do not know if the format of a season of 8-12 shows featuring a single story arc from beginning to end has a name -- other than mini-series, which is what we called them back in the day. Nonetheless, many of these are only worth one season, and efforts to create new seasons fall flat (usually because they have run through the original source material). When that is the case, I prefer the single well-enjoyed season, rather than having that season tarnished by creating what seems like a poorly-considered sequel.

Hellstrom is a marvel show. It is based on son of satan comic books.. but they ruined it by taking his costume away.. he even has a pitchfork. And I never get tired of marvel shows, or star wars, and disney + has national geo programs, and lots of old disney movies and shows. There is a lot of content on it. It is awesome. And their competitor Dc universe shut down ( still has comics on it) and went to hbo max online only. As d.c is a warner company this makes sense.. plus the cws fine and fun superhero shows are all good. But to say disney + is limited is not true. The marvel channel is just part of it.

This was known before it aired. There were articles saying this would only have one run on Hulu.

That's… not news. We knew it would only be one season before the show even started.

At some point even Disney will have to understand that not everything is worth watching just because it has the Marvel or Star Wars tag attached. I rather have quality over quantity.

Aaaaand that's why I don't watch shows in their first season anymore. Too bad, I heard good things about it.

Oh no. What will we do with one less mind-numbing marvel show.

Sad news, I quite enjoyed the first season.
